What Games Can Do For Journalism – Interview with Columbia Journalism Review

Earlier this week, I had the distinguished opportunity to be interviewed alongside my fellow JoLT Fellows by Lene Bech Sillesen of the Columbia Journalism Review. The interview itself was more of a Q&A session with us three fellows on one side of the screen and Lene on the other. Even though we’ve only known each other for about two weeks, we bounced and built off one another like it was our job.


What can computer games bring to the news media?

Dunlap: Games are masters of engagement, or there wouldn’t be 600 million people worldwide playing video games. Games hook you. So, is there a way to take that hook and channel that to other industries?
